Tongue scraping is an ancient Ayurvedic practice to remove toxins that accumulate on the tongue overnight as the body detoxing. There tends to be move build up if digestion is not optimal, but tongue scraping is a great habit for everyone to get into first thing in the morning as part of a cleansing routine.
Tongue scraping should be done first thing in the morning before eating (so you don’t ingest any of the toxins on the tongue). Stick out your tongue, hold both ends of the scraper, and slide the scraper along the tongue. You’ll see the build up of toxins being removed. Rinse under running water and complete until not more toxic build up appears on the scraper. Rinse your mouth afterwards.
